The BT-870-PT keyboard and the IK-KV-13.3W flat panel display from iKeys can be connected to the DeX station and can be used as a desktop PC. The company says that its keyboard and display solution has been designed to help law enforcement personnel and first responders. They can turn this combination into a desktop solution that can be used inside responding vehicles.
The BT-870-TP is fully sealed, IP67 certified device for dust and water resistance. It features red backlighting so that users don’t get impaired night vision while using the keyboard. It weighs just two pounds and is just 2 inches thick. There’s a 0.85-inch thin solution too: BT-870-TP-SLIM. For dual connectivity, it features Bluetooth as well as USB connections. This is one of the first industrial implementations that we’ve seen for the Samsung DeX.
The IK-KV-13.3W is a 13.3-inch display with two-point capacitive touchscreen, 1000-nit brightness, four USB ports, anti-glare coating, and a VESA mount that can be used for mounting inside a vehicle. Steven Meyer, CEO of iKey, said, “Dual connectivity is what we hear our customers asking for; they want both USB and Bluetooth for reliability, not just Bluetooth. Device interference is common and dual connectivity will solve that. We help police do their job with no downtime.”
